Head for new adventures under the Valais sun

Sunnegga

Clouds Clouds Clouds

Sunnegga means "sunny corner" and the name says it all. It’s the most family-friendly peak in the Zermatt-Matterhorn resort and also the one with the sunniest vistas. The most exciting family adventure stories are written on Sunnegga, with the Matterhorn always in view. And they are created all year round: Wolli the cuddly mascot is on hand to see to it in person.

With the Wolli Card and its many advantages in their packs, children under the age of nine board the funicular at the Sunnegga-Rothorn valley station for a comfortable ride to the peak. When they get to the top, all kinds of fun can begin: skiing in winter; kick-biking, playground activities, hiking and walking in summer. A peak that’s just made for adventurous, active families ...

Summer thrills on Sunnegga

Summer, sun, Sunnegga. During the warmer months, Zermatt’s sunny peak shows itself at its most diverse. Ramblers go in search of marmots, alpine roses and all the other fascinating things you can find in the Swiss Alps. On Sunnegga, action fans can grab a kick bike complete with helmet. These cross-country scooters offer a thrilling ride down to the valley, with the Matterhorn looming ever nearer. Sounds adventurous? You bet it is!

Selfie anyone? Stop off at the Tuftern photopoint, with the pretty wooden houses and the Matterhorn as backdrop. And don’t forget to post the photo on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #matterhornparadise!

WOLLI FUN PARK AT LEISEE

In winter, the place is all about eager skiers having fun; in summer, it’s where you decide which apparatus in the playground is your absolute favourite. The adventure playground with barbecue places and a water feature is directly beside the Leisee lake, ideal to splash around in and cool off from time to time. Or how about a voyage across the lake together on a wooden raft?

Did you know? All children and young people under the age of 16 accompanied by an adult travel free with the Junior and Children’s Co-travelcard – and it’s valid on all Zermatt Bergbahnen facilities.
