Peaks of pleasure

Culinary highlights in the Swiss mountains

Apart from all the sporting activities, the culinary arts are a discipline all of their own in Zermatt. One that performs at the highest level in amongst the Alpine peaks. And that isn’t just in the figurative sense, as the world’s highest mountain restaurant shows: the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise restaurant is situated at 3'883 metres.

But it’s primarily peaks of culinary pleasure that visitors to the Valais Alps ascend every day. Nowhere else do the world-famous Swiss specialities taste better than in the mountain restaurants and chalets of the region. And on top of that there is the feast for the eyes: from the sun terraces you have a view of the world’s most-photographed mountain: the Matterhorn.
